Independence Day Celebration
Independence Day, observed every year on 15th August, is one of the most cherished national festivals of Bharat. It marks the day in 1947 when our nation gained freedom after nearly two centuries of colonial rule. This day is a tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and determination of countless freedom fighters who envisioned a sovereign Bharat where every citizen could live with dignity and self-respect. It is celebrated not only to honor their memory but also to reaffirm our shared responsibility towards nation-building.
The heart of the national celebration takes place at the Red Fort in New Delhi, where the Prime Minister hoists the tricolor, addresses the nation, and pays homage to the architects of freedom. The event is enriched with parades, cultural performances, and patriotic songs, showcasing Bharat’s strength in unity and its cultural diversity. It is not just a celebration—it is a pledge to uphold the ideals of our freedom struggle.
On Bharat’s 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi delivered his longest Red Fort address, lasting 103 minutes. He charted a bold roadmap for Viksit Bharat 2047, emphasizing self-reliance, innovation, and citizen empowerment. Highlighting transformation across defence, economy, agriculture, technology, clean energy, and digital sovereignty, he reaffirmed Bharat’s resolve to become a $10 trillion, resilient, inclusive, and globally competitive nation by its centenary of independence.
At Ekal Gramothan Foundation, the day was proudly celebrated across 971 centers of Bharat. With the unfurling of the tricolor, patriotic songs, dances, and heartfelt tributes, the celebrations rekindled in everyone the emotions of pride, gratitude, and responsibility. These gatherings became more than events—they became living reminders of the unity and spirit that bind us as a nation.
Independence Day is more than a date – it is a shared emotion that unites every Indian, inspiring us to honor the past, strengthen the present, and build a brighter future for Bharat.

Adding to the celebration, Ekal on Wheels (EOW) Mobile Bus reached remote areas, spreading the message of harmony and togetherness, while all stationary vibrant centers echoed with joy, songs, and heartfelt exchanges.
The atmosphere brimmed with warmth, respect, and emotion as threads of raksha became symbols of love, trust, and national unity.
